We have several specialist provisional licence insurance schemes available, making use of telematics to provide a more affordable insurance option. The system is aimed predominately at 17-18 year olds who are just starting out driving, and is suitable for Full UK or Provisional licence holders. Unlike most insurance companies, your premium will not increase once you pass your test.

This is one of the simplest black box (telematics) systems on the market. As long as you do not drive your vehicle between the hours of 11pm and 5am, and comply with the terms and conditions of the policy, you will not pay any extra charges. If you do need to use your vehicle during these hours then you will incur a £100 fine for every night. Don’t worry, you and any named drivers will still be fully covered.

The system will monitor your driving over the first year, and your renewal will be offered based on the number of miles you cover, the types of roads you drive on, and your average speeds. This allows for the more careful younger driver to achieve the cheaper premiums they deserve. Good drivers can enjoy as much as a 40% discount on their second year.

The Process in Brief

1. The black box is installed under the dashboard of the car
2. The data the black box processes is sent back to us
3. The data is also sent direct to your dashboard so that you can monitor it for yourself
4. We simply check the time of day you’re driving
5. As long as you don’t drive between 11pm – 5am you will continue to benefit from the discounted cover.

If you do drive during these hours you incur a charge of £100.00 per night.
